To use pretty much any cheat in The Sims 4, make sure testing cheats is enabled. To do so, press control+shift+c (command on a mac). In the text field, type testingcheats true and you’re all set to enter whatever cheat you need. (control+shift+c again to close the text window after you enter the code).

In order to activate the cheats, users must open The Cheat Console by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+C on a PC or COMMAND+SHIFT+C on a Mac. Gamers must then type “enable testingCheats” with 'testingCheats true” and then enter code. You MUST select a specific Sim for the cheat to work.
